Workington RNLI volunteers who attended Whitehaven HarbourFest ended up being called into rescuing a boy who had fallen unconscious after banging his head in a fall.
The RNLI volunteers were in attendance at Harbour Fest at Whitehaven.
The Workington crew turned up with their all-weather and inshore lifeboats for people to have a look around
While there, they saw a young boy slip and fall backwards, hitting his head on the slipway on Saturday afternoon.
John Stobbart, Workington RNLI coxswain, explained the situation, saying: "He [the boy] became limp and was unconscious and began to have seizures."
Crew members immediately grabbed the inshore lifeboat's first aid kit and ran over to the youngster.

The RNLI crew helped the boy and handed over to the North West Ambulance Service
Mr Stobbart added: "They began to administer first aid and oxygen and took charge, as first responders, until the ambulance service arrived. They were thanked by the family.
"We are very proud of their quick-thinking and actions that helped that boy when he needed it. They handled the situation accordingly."
