ORGANISER'S of a festival in memory of a much-loved Seaton woman have raised more than £10,000 for Cancer Research UK.

Summer Lovin' 22 was held in the village in May in memory of Sandra Benson who died in 2020.

750 people turned out to the day that was themed around Sandra's favourite musical Grease, with the £10,255.96 made from the day being donated to Cancer Research UK.

A spokesman for the organising team, said: "Well what a huge success and a great day had by all involved. Tickets sold out weeks before the event to make it Seatons biggest ever musical concert by far.

"Our apologies for the delayed announcement but its took us some time to balance the books and make sure everyone was paid but we can now say….

"Seaton Village Hall and Recreational Ground trustees are giving £10,255.96 to Cancer Research UK from the profit made in memory and on behalf of Sandra Benson and her family.

"This included all donations, funds raised by raffle tickets and bar sales from Seaton Village Hall with Tractor Shed Brewing also donating all profits made on the day.

"We would like to thank all volunteers. suppliers, artists and, especially everyone who bought tickets to the event as it wouldn’t not have been possible without all your support.

"With this in mind and to answer what you have all been asking…..

"YES we will be back in a different way, to do it all again next year, save the date for Sunday 30th April 2023."
