THE British Transport Police in Carlisle have thanked one of their colleagues for his years of service as he goes into retirement. 

PC Bingham has worked as part of the team for just over three decades and is well respected by his fellow members of staff. 

A spokesperson from the British Transport Police said on social media: "The hugest of congratulations to PC Bingham on his retirement from all of his colleagues at Carlisle.

"Today is his final shift after working over 31 years in BTP all operational, frontline policing.

"A fantastic achievement and he will certainly be missed."
