The latest data on the number of people who are being treated for Covid has been released, showing a decrease in patients.

North Cumbria Integrated Care Trust was caring for 16 coronavirus patients in hospital as of Tuesday, June 24, figures show.

NHS England data shows the number of people being treated in hospital for Covid-19 by 8:00 am on June 21 was down from 24 on the same day the previous week.

The number of beds at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust occupied by people who tested positive for Covid decreased by 33 per cent in the last four weeks – 28 days ago, there were 24.

Across England, there were 6,002 people in hospital with Covid as of June 21, with 149 of them in mechanical ventilation beds – though none were at North Cumbria Integrated Care Trust.

The number of Covid-19 patients hospitalised nationally has increased by 29 per cent in the last four weeks, while the number of mechanical ventilators has increased by 5 per cent.

The figures also show that 14 new Covid patients were admitted to hospital in North Cumbria Integrated Care Trust in the week of June 19, up from seven in the previous seven days.
