IF you're a venue and looking to find the perfect band or perhaps a band looking for some extra exposure, then look no further.
Russ Whitey has recently opened his musically tuned events and promotion business, Rock With, with the intention of supporting and bringing more local musicians to Carlisle’s stages.
"I've always been very passionate about music, I've always been a regular attender of gigs, festivals and anything music I can really.
"So, I thought to myself since I've been supporting local bands and artists and with venues opening and the music scene growing back to what it once was, I thought it would be good to help local artists get back in touch with venues,” he said.

The business will be launching their maiden event, a chilled-out evening at Harraby Theatre Café on July 15 – which will showcase the sounds and local talent of Ryan Davidson, Georgina Gale, Alex Freitas, Bert Wilson and Harry Stephenson.
Russ said what the business offers is two-fold.
"It works for venues, gets them more acts and for bands it gives them more opportunity to get their music out there and get heard.
"I don't think bands in the area get supported enough in the area so anything that gets them extra exposure in the area is really beneficial,” he said.
This is Russ’ first solo business venture, of which he says you can see a lot more of the hard-work going into it come to the forefront.
"I do all of this in my own time out with a job, it keeps me sharp, it's my hobby and my passion.
"I've only done in two or three weeks, and the events are already lining up. I'm just trying to build the business up and take it from there,” he said.
Russ said he was thrilled that the business is already starting to take shape after a couple of weeks.
"I'd love to get bands big enough that I could get them booked in the festival scene, but so far it's been really positive and the people of Carlisle have been supportive,” he said.
