CUMBRIAN festival Kendal Calling has been ranked the second best value for money festival in the UK, according to new data.

By comparing the cost of each festival ticket against the total number of music acts performing at each event, the team at Business Name Generator has revealed, pound-for-pound, exactly where to find the best value-for-money festivals in the UK.

Kendal Calling was just behind Glastonbury Festival, an unbelievable 1,397 music artists are performing across this weekend. At £285 for a ticket, it works out at approximately 20 pence per artist.

In second place is the Lake District’s very own Kendal Calling, which returns this July. Headlined this year by superb bands such as Supergrass, Stereophonics, Bastille and The Wombats, the weekend costs just £169 for 238 artists, working out at just 71 pence per artist.

Parklife Weekender came in at three -followed by Creamfields.

In sixth pace was Y not? Festival in Derbyshire, followed by Green Man, Latitude , Lost Village and Blue Dot Festival.

Coming in at last place is Reading & Leeds Festival, , costing £232.20 for either weekend, with the same 107 artists performing at both sites, it works out at £2.17 per artist.
