A young girl is donating her hair to a cancer charity.
Jessica Davidson, aged seven, from Kirkandrews Moat, is also helping to raise money for the cancer charities Macmillan and Little Princess Trust.
Her mother, Michelle Davidson, said she wanted to do this after her friend did the same after her father passed away from the disease.
The aim is for Little Princess Trust to make a wig out of the hair, something that she said costs around £550.
The Little Princess Trust provides free real hair wigs to children and young people, up to 24 years, who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other conditions.
She said: “It makes you think ‘What if that happened to my child?’ so we are raising money.
“We’ve put a raffle together; I’ve been selling them for £1.”
She decided to do this when she was five.
Michelle added: “She’s like that, she’ll do anything for anyone.
“She’s a mothering kind of girl and feels people’s pain.”
