A COCKERMOUTH group organised tours for people in Cockermouth to mark National Civic Day.

The day was part of a national campaign to make people proud of where they live.

Cockermouth & District Civic Trust participated in National Civic Day by running 6 tours of 15 people round Cockermouth Castle, which is normally closed to the public

The tours also took people  along on a guided walk round the town’s town trail and Conservation Area for a further 19 people.

All tours were well received.

Civic Day is part of a national campaign to make everyone proud of where they live, coordinated by Civic Voice, the national charity for the civic movement in England.

The castle tours are the first that we have organised since 2019 due to the pandemic.
