A woman has been banned from the roads after taking a car without the owner’s consent and driving it without insurance.
Laura Armfield, 30, drove a black Ford Fiesta that had been taken without permission, on Preston Street in Whitehaven on June 4.
She was not insured to drive the car.
Armfield, of Scotch Street, Whitehaven, pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle that had been taken without the owner’s consent and using a vehicle on a road without third party insurance.
Magistrates in Workington banned her from driving for six months.
Armfield was also given a 12-month community order and must complete 15 rehabilitation activity days.
She was ordered to pay £85 in costs and a £95 victim surcharge, which will be deducted from benefits.
