"The Workington Town Council events team, I just decided that they should get something because I do feel that they always try their best to do things for our community as a whole and they don't always get the recognition they deserve I think.

"Sharon does all kinds for the community centre... she pulls them all together and gets them doing things, I did actually ask people at work who they thought deserved something and Sharon was right at the top of the list.

"We chose the ladies from the ladies section in the legion because they do a lot of work and no one realises what they do, they do a lot of work for our military family that people don't always see."

All of the winners received a gift and certificate from Morrisons.
