OLD and young met to celebrate the jubilee last week - as school pupils in Workington went to entertain care home residents with a singalong.
Last Thursday, May 23 children from Ashfield Infant and Nursery School went to sing to the residents of Amathea care home to help spread some joy around the Queen's Jubilee.
The children made and wore crowns and also made some for the carehome residents.
The children also learned and sang some 'old classic' style songs to residents- with young and old joining in the celebrations.
Year One teacher, Miss Jones said: "The children had a great time making crowns and flags for the residents of the care home.
"They learnt songs such as 'how much is that doggie' and 'sweet Caroline' so the residents could join in. It was fantastic seeing the residents and children interact.
"It was such an enjoyable experience for everyone involved."
