Karen brings her experience as a former police officer to the forefront of her writing and has currently authored seven books, as well as becoming the recipient of Best New Scottish Writer Award.

The new novel grew out of the author’s time spent working as a nightshift police officer in Glasgow city centre, and her experiences facilitating creative writing with homeless people as part of Scottish PEN's Many Voices project.

Alongside PEN, Karen has led workshops for the Scottish Refugee Council, Amnesty and Moniack Mhor.

A member from Carlisle Key charity will also be saying a few words on the night.

Tickets are available online with pricing starting at £7 or you can purchase a book with the ticket included for £14.99.

A glass of wine or beer will be included with all ticket purchases.
