CARLISLE-raised food writer Grace Dent is travelling across the country with Ainsley Harriott for a new series on Channel 4.

In the show, Best of Britain By The Sea, two of Britain’s most-loved foodies, Ainsley and Grace explore some of the best seaside holiday destinations – and dishes - the British Isles have to offer.

The duo have recently compiled a list for The Times of the 20 best places along the UK coastline for people to grab something to eat. Included in the list was Silloth’s The Fairydust Emporium.

Each episode will follow Grace and Ainsley as they stay in a self-catering property where they cook for each other using their favourite produce, and a hotel where they meet the owners and chefs while soaking up the unique ambience of each gorgeous establishment.

The first episode sees the pair explore the scenic county of Carmarthenshire in Wales; they tuck into cockles, steak and traditional cawl, take a spin in a classic car on Pendine Sands and Grace delivers her first lamb!

Throughout the series they will be trying hand-dived scallops in Devon, getting a taste of boatlife on the Norfolk Broads, sampling local langoustines in Aberdeenshire and finally devouring mouth-watering souffles in the Isle of Wight.

Best of Britain By The Sea, is on More 4 at 9pm on Monday nights and the entire series is available to watch on All4.
