"Early photographers endeavoured to capture the light, to fix the shadows to control what was seen and preserved. Time moves on. Now, the role of a photographer is so much more.

"Whilst still enchanted by the making and fixing of the image, contemporary photographers carry more responsibility, they are our eyes, they listen to the world for us, they can be our compass in this complex world.

"This collective of photographers offer a diverse array of interests and concerns, from world politics to personal politics, from telling tales to playing games. Each takes their own direction; each offers us their vision (and their sight is sharp).

"These are the ones we can look to confidently because they are curious by nature and critical in thought."
