A FRIZINGTON man has been jailed over a spate of offending, including assaults and causing criminal damage.
David Macauley, 37, of Moor Place, pleaded guilty to five offences, which were all committed on April 14 in Frizington, Workington Magistrates' Court heard. Those offences were:
* Using threatening, abusive, or insulting behaviour towards a female with intent to cause that person to fear immediate unlawful violence.
* Using threatening or disorderly behaviour towards a second female, causing her harassment, alarm, or distress.
* Damaging a door worth £100 belonging to Home Group.
* Assaulting a police officer.
* And assaulting a male.
Magistrates jailed the defendant for four months, stating that the offence was prolonged, and the defendant caused his victims “substantial fear.”
Magistrates ruled that the defendant must pay all but one of the victims compensation for his offending (the exception being due to a lack of information) as well as £100 to cover the cost of the damaged door.
Macauley must pay a total of £250 in compensation.
