Charities in and around Carlisle have benefited from a funding scheme involving the Mayor of Carlisle.
Carlisle’s Mayoral Charity Fund has raised £10,172.56 for local charities.
A spokesperson from Carlisle City Council said: "Carlisle Mayor, Councillor Pamela Birks presented her two chosen charities with their money on Monday 9 May at the Civic Centre building."
The charities to benefit are Carlisle Eden Mind who had £5,000 donated and Oak Tree Animal's Charity who had £5,172.56 donated. Both charities were nominated at the start of the Mayoral year.
