A SAXOPHONE and piano duo from Scotland are set to perform in Wigton next month.
Ian Millar and Dominic Spencer will perform at the Bothel Village Hall on Sunday, June 5.
Ian and Dominic are unique in the UK jazz community, taking their blend of melodic jazz standards and original compositions to rural communities all over the country. They use programmable lighting and bottle lights to create a wonderful intimate atmosphere for the music.
They tell stories of their travels in their Tour Bus - an old, converted Yorkshire Ambulance, in an entertaining evening of creative music and enthusiastic joy.
Ian said: “We are delighted to be performing again after sell-out candlelight concerts on the Glasgow Tall Ship and record sales for our concerts in last year's Edinburgh Fringe Festival. We are hoping this makes a welcome release from lockdown and a chance for communities to reconnect.”
Dominic continued: “It’s been a difficult time over the last couple of years, but we had both been practising hard throughout lock down, calling ourselves the Socially Distanced Duo. Now we’re getting out and meeting our audience again!”
The show starts at 8pm and tickets cost £10, with under 16s allowed in for free.
