Maryport Coastguard were called out to help find a missing man in the Workington area yesterday (May, 11).
The coastguard service teamed up with Whitehaven's coastguard to help find the missing man but once on scene, police reported that the man had been found 'safe and well'.
A spokesperson from Maryport Coastguard said : "We were tasked yesterday afternoon by our Coordination centre Belfast Coastguard at the request of Cumbria Police to reports of a missing male in the Workington area.
"Once on scene with our colleagues from Whitehaven Coastguard Rescue Team the welcome news came through that the individual had been located safe and well at home by the police.
"Teams were stood down and returned to service.
"In a coastal, sea or cliff emergency always call 999 and ask for the coastguard," they said.
