The Marmalade Festival will return this weekend, so we have decided to take a trip down memory lane to see what the fuss was all about at the 2016 edition of the festival.

The festival, hosted yearly at Dalemain Mansion in Penrith, usually has demonstrations, talks, exhibitions and shows that inspires people to take marmalade into their heart.

It is an important time not just for locals, but for people across the country as well, with 2019's edition seeing Great British Bake-off champion David Atherton judging that year's entries.

The festival takes place on May 14 this year, but judging took place from February 11 with entrants from all round the world.

This year there will be one homemade marmalade maker to take the accolade of ‘2022 Best in Show’ and have the chance to see their marmalade co-branded and sold by Fortnum & Mason.
