BACKGROUND reports are to be prepared about a young Carlisle man who has admitted downloading dozens of child abuse images.
Joshua Watson, 24, admitted three offences when he appeared before the city’s Rickergate court. All three offences – one for each category of indecent child images – were committed between July 20, 2020 and August 23 that year.
The first charge related to 10 Category A images – considered in law to the most serious kind of abuse images. The second charge involved 4 Category B image; while the final charge arose from 51 Category C images.
After hearing brief details, magistrates said the defendant, of Beaumont Road, Currock, Carlisle, should be sentenced by a judge at Carlisle Crown Court. They set the date of the sentence hearing as June 6.
In the meantime, the defendant was granted bail.
