A HOMELESS Carlisle man has been given a domestic violence protection order that prohibits him from contacting a woman for 28 days.
Darren Lee Johnson, 45, who did not appear at the city’s Rickergate court when the Cumbria Police application was considered, is now barred from having any contact with the protected woman until the order expires.
He is also barred from entering Holmes Avenue, Carlisle and from going to the Apple Tree Pub in Lowther Street, Carlisle, over the same period.
The order includes a ban on any form of contact with the woman, including by social media or text.
Such orders are made when a court rules that the protected person has been subjected to violence, or the threat of violence by the defendant.
Breaching a domestic violence protection order is a criminal offence.
