A woman who denied being threatening and abusive has been given a hefty fine after she was found guilty by magistrates.
Gayle McCrickerd, 36, of Ruby Road, Salterbeck, Workington, pleaded not guilty to a charge of using threatening, abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
But after a trial at Workington Magistrates' Court on Friday, magistrates convicted McCrickerd of the offence, which took place in Workington on January 17.
McCrickerd was fined £660 and must pay £620 costs and a £66 victim surcharge.
