MUSIC legend Tom Jones will be supported by country act The Shires for his show in Carlisle this summer.
The powerhouse announced his 'Surrounded By Time' tour earlier this year, including a date at the city's Bitts Park on Sunday, July 24.
Tom, whose hits include It's Not Unusual, Delilah, Kiss and Sex Bomb, will also be singing tracks from his latest album 'Surrounded By Time', which debuted at number one on the official UK albums chart last year securing the top spot for Tom for the first time in over 20 years.
The 81-year-old is the oldest artist to reach number one with an album of completely new material.
Support for the Bitts Park date will also be one not to miss.
The Shires, made up of Ben Earle and Crissie Rhodes, caught the attention of broadcasting legend Bob Harris in 2014 with their debut single “Nashville Grey Skies”.
Even though it hasn’t been an easy ride for the pair, they have had some incredible achievements supporting Little Big Town, The Corrs, and Carrie Underwood (during her Cry Pretty UK tour), playing C2C Festival, a sold-out headline tour and the release of their spectacular debut album, Brave, which became the first-ever top 10 album by a UK country music act.
Having also sold out the Royal Albert Hall as one of their biggest achievements with three consecutive UK Top 3 albums, last month saw the release of album number five for Earle and Rhodes with ’10 Year Plan’.
Featuring tracks, ‘Cut Me Loose’, ‘I See Stars’ and ‘Ten Year Plan’ The Shires album is one of the most enthralling, soul-stirring country albums of 2022 making them an artist you do not want to miss.
