A MOTHER of three has just been crowned Miss North Cumbria and will go on to compete in the Miss Great Britain finals later this year.

Roseanne Reed-Brough, 27, from Great Orton, will be entering the national finals for her third time, ever since being involved in the world of pageantry since she was 17.

The ceremony veteran first competed in the Miss Great Britain finals four months after having her eldest child, Faith, in 2015.

"I just loved the competition, the energy, the girls that have now became friends for life, the ambition they bring and motivation the energy brings from the whole final.

"Being honest, I went intentionally back then to win in hope that would build back up my confidence as a new mum and to prove people wrong that having children doesn't stop you from doing what you want.

"There is a lot of stigma that pageantry is all about looks, very clicky, very competitive when in reality it is the total opposite.

"It's a community of its own, a positive group that really push you to be the best version of you.

"I'm so grateful and honoured to be a part of this competition yet again," she said.

Roseanne said a period of major life events, including the passing of her father, starting a new business from scratch and being a mum of three has reinvigorated her drive to compete this year.

"It's having children that have given me a voice mainly and most definitely the focus in pageants as well as losing my Dad.

"He passed away in 2019, he wasn't a big 'pageant Fan' as he was very traditional in his ways of life.

"He was a much older Father. However, a few months before he passed he urged me to do this again - he seen the spark and the purpose it gave me," she said.

Roseanne will be holding several events in aid of Cancer Research to remember her Dad on the run-up to the finals, as well as events to support the local community.

The 27 year old gave thanks to her sponsors, of which is Carol's Bridal Boutique whom without she wouldn't have been able to achieve the level of success she's had.

"I would like to thank dearly the amazing Carols Bridal Boutique.

"Lauren, Carol and the team are just amazing. The purest souls, which none of this would be happening without them," she said.

Roseanne will also be launching her Mind Me Up workshops this summer, a focus on self development focusing on the mind, body & soul for each individual attendees.
