There's a buzz around Carlisle this week, especially after a week of sunshine - here's hoping it carries on through. 

In the meantime, here's a list of 10 things to get you out and about. 

1. It's National Record Store Day on April 23 and to celebrate, Future is Vinyl at Carlisle's Vinyl Cafe, will be releasing limited edition records that will never be pressed again. Be sure to get yourself down early as it's the busiest day of the year for the Abbey Street store. 

2. Find out the stories behind the community excavation of Carlisle’s Roman bathhouse through the Tullie House's latest exhibition, Uncovering Roman Carlisle. The new exhibition documents the 2021 community excavation of the site with discoveries explored through the stories of the people who found them. 

3. Go Your Own Way and go straight to the Sands Centre for a brand new spellbinding show featuring the music from the legendary multiple Grammy Award Winning Fleetwood Mac on Sunday April, 24.

4. Popular cafe, Cakes and Ale, on Castle Street, will be hosting their club night on Friday. A space for all and any clubs welcome whether it be book clubs or crochet clubs, why not group up in a cafe full of smiles. 

5. Fancy a flick? Why not go see the latest blockbusters at the Vue Cinema with this weeks schedule showing, The Northman. Or why not check out Brampton Film Club for a showing of Promising Young Woman on Saturday evening (April, 23). 

6. It was National Tea Day earlier this week, why not celebrate by having Afternoon Tea at one of Carlisle top rated spots such as, Anazao Tea Room or Bartons Yard. 

7. Relive the 90's Manchester vibe with live music from Happy Mondaze and DJ set from Clint Boon of The Inspiral Carpets at the Old Fire Station on Saturday night (April, 23).

8. An internet sensation, Stephanie Aird, will be bringing her comedy and music show, LOLs live, to the Harraby Theatre on Sunday (April 24) with tickets still available online.

9. A week on Thursday brings one of comedy's biggest names, Jason Manford, to the Sands Centre. The comedian will be bringing his new tour, ’Like Me' for a rib-tickling two hour performance. 

10. A popular city centre restaurant, Alex's Pasta Bar, will be hosting a charity night on April 28 - with all of their takings going to help during the current Ukraine crisis. The restaurant, on the Greenmarket, will also be hosting a raffle including a signed Man Utd top up for grabs. Book ahead for your table.
