A CARLISLE woman accused of fraud by 'false representation' has had her case adjourned until June 14 at the city's crown court.

Bethany Percival, 28, of Mount Pleasant Road, Currock, who denies the allegation, made a brief appearance before a judge at Carlisle Crown Court, where her defence barrister successfully applied for an adjournment.

The allegation states: that between December 15, 2020 and January 2, last year, she committed a fraud in that she dishonestly made a false representation, creating online credit accounts in the name of [the alleged victim], intending to make a gain.”

The charge alleges the sum of £1,500 being involved in connection with a CapitalOne credit card; a NextPay credit card and an unknown sum of money; and items from Very.com, valued at £384.

In court, Percival spoke only to confirm her personal details. She was granted unconditional bail until she returns to court in June.
