A COMEDY club, which hosts stand-up evenings across the country, has announced plans to host a big event in Penrith.

Just the Tonic will host a Comedy Shindig at the town’s Frenchfield Sports Centre on Sunday, June 19.

The stellar line up for the event is headlined by Frankie Boyle. The former Mock the Week panelist and New World Order host is set to perform work in progress shows before taking off on another UK tour.

Continuing to tour although stating he would retire by the age of 40, the Glaswegian will be appearing in the Music Hall at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival as part of the 75th anniversary season of the event in August.

Also included in the line up are Reginald D Hunter, Angela Barnes, Hal Cruttenden and Daliso Chaponda, who came third in the 2017 series of Britain’s Got Talent after Amanda Holden pressed the golden buzzer during his first audition.

Sally-Anne Hayward and Justin Moorhouse complete the line up for the outdoor event.

Doors for the event will open at 2pm, with the first act taking to the stage at 3pm and the last act finishing at 10pm.

Early bird tickets are available now for £29 and are available through See Tickets.
