DATA has shown that Cumbria is rated tenth worse for speeding offences, according to a recent study.
The research, undertaken by GoShorty, analysed data from a series of Freedom of Information requests and government sources to reveal the areas with the highest number of speed limit offences.
Top 10 areas for speed limit offences:
- Lincolnshire: Speed Offences: 102838. Rate per 100,000: 13420.07
- Norfolk: Speed Offences: 80717: Rate per 100,000: 8831.18
- North Yorkshire: Speed Offences: 71334: Rate per 100,000: 8577.92
- Northamptonshire: Speed Offences: 53460: Rate per 100,000: 7060.22
- Surrey: Speed Offences: 76378: Rate per 100,000: 6365.36
- West Yorkshire: Speed Offences: 138603: Rate per 100,000: 5910.07
- Bedfordshire: Speed Offences: 39893: Rate per 100,000: 5846.84
- Avon and Somerset: Speed Offences: 88376: Rate per 100,000: 5109.92
- West Mercia: Speed Offences: 65650: Rate per 100,000: 5056.22
- Cumbria: Speed Offences: 23997: Rate per 100,000: 4801.32
The top ten most common speeding offences are:
