Here at the Westmorland Gazette, we have gathered some of the best events coming up to enjoy in the days ahead.

1. Model Railway Exhibition

Are you interested in model railway if so the Kendal Model Railway Club are having their exhibition this weekend 29th & 30th January at the Kendal Leisure Centre open from 10-00 till 5-00 on Saturday and 10-00 till 4-00 on Sunday. Adults £6-00 Concessions £5-00 Children £3-00 ( age 6-16 )

2. Trial Trio

On January 28, you can head down to Kendal Castle for the Trial Trio, starting at 5pm you can spend the evening listening to some music while the sun sets behind you. Tickets are currently on sale for £10.

3. Pilates and Yoga Workshop

This event is being run in collaboration with pilates teacher Viki Buckley. On January 30, head down to the Lakes Yoga Studio between 9:30am and 1:00pm for a 'perfect' combination of pilates and yoga. Tickets are £45 and refreshments are provided.

4. Scafell Pike mountain day

Are you interested in climbing? You can spend the day climbing Scafell Pike. No previous experience is required as you will be in the safety of an experienced instructor. The climbing day starts at 9am on Saturday 29. Tickets are currently available for £200 and you can book the event for yourself or a team of six people.

5. Fern Brady

Following a sold-out tour across Europe and Australia in 2019 and her most recent BBC stand up special Power & Chaos, Fern Brady brings her fifth solo show Brain on a nationwide tour. On January 27, from 8pm to 10pm Fern will be performing her concession tickets are £15.40 and seat tickets are £17.60.

6. Aladdin

Join the Ulverston Pantomime Society for a magical and fun performance of Aladdin. After a gap of a year they are returning with Dave Crump’s modern take on Aladdin, written in 2019. The performance will take place on January 28 at The Coro, Ulverston. Tickets are currently on sale between £13.52 - £15.68.

7. Big Band Weekend - Wabash Dixieland and Mike James Sound

This weekend (28 JAN AT 18:30 – 30 JAN AT 11:00) why not treat yourself to two nights at the Cumbria Grand Hotel, Grange-over-Sands from £143 per person for a weekend of live music. Featuring music from Wabash Dixieland Band on Friday and then Saturday you’ll be able to sit back and enjoy Mike James Sound.

8. Mental Health Mile

For an hour on Sunday 30, you can join Kendal's own monthly Mental Health Mile in support of South Lakeland's Youth People's Mental Health Charity. Run, Walk, Chat, Clap. However you want to do it, the Mile is there for you to do. The walk will start at Kendal Parish Church and anyone is welcome.

9. Shaparak Khorsandi

On Thursday, February 3 you can head down to the Brewery Arts, Kendal for an audience with Shaparak Khorsandi. Tickets are currently on sale for £16.50 at the show will start at 8pm. During the show, Shaparak will reflect on the 90s and how '90s kids are looking to young people to learn how to take care of ourselves.'

10. Discover… Pottery Throwing Workshop

This weekend at the Brewery Arts, Kendal on Saturday 29, you can join the workshop with tutor Chris Barnes for a fun intensive pottery throwing course that will concentrate on improving your throwing technique on the potter's wheel. Times are 1.15 - 2.45 and 3.15 - 4.45 and tickets cost £45.
