A COMMUNITY has paid tribute to popular Whitehaven man Cameron Taylor, one year on from his death.

Cameron Taylor, 20, died on January 15, 2021 following an incident at Lillyhall industrial estate.

In a statement Paul Coombe and Alan Sharpe, Directors at Coombe and Sharpe Landscaping Limited. have paid tribute to the late employee.

They said: "Paul, Alan and everyone that works here at Coombe and Sharpe would like to express their sincere condolences to Cameron's family and friends on the anniversary of his death.

"We remain devastated by his death and continue to work with the Health & Safety Executive to establish exactly what happened.

"Cameron remains in our hearts and minds each day; he was part of our work family, and we miss him.

"Our love and prayers are with Cameron's family today and always."

Rugby clubs in the area have also remembered the popular Kell's player.

Kells ARLFC, where the Cameron had played from eight years old, said: "Sad day, 12 months ago a young man left our lives but will never be forgotten.

"We are all missing you Tadge."

Whitehaven Rugby League said: "A year ago today tragedy struck the Cumbrian rugby league community as we lost Cameron Taylor.

"The Taylor family are rugby league through and through and Cameron’s loss was felt right throughout Cumbrian rugby league.

"Rest Easy Tadge."
