A MOTORIST has been fined for careless driving - after he deliberately "spun" his Subaru in a busy public car park at the summit of the A686 Harside summit.
Jonathan Minto, 30, denied the offence but was convicted after a trial at Carlisle's Rickergate court.
Magistrates heard that he carried out a deliberate spinning manoeuvre on January 2 last year, which endangered other users of the car park.
They imposed six penalty points on his licence as well as a £400 fine.
The defendant, of Hetton-le-Hole, was also told that he must pay £620 prosecution costs and a £40 victim surcharge. He was not legally represented during his trial.
