TWO men have entered a property in Carlisle with a knife and machete - injuring a 49-year-old man.

Police are investigating an incident of aggravated burglary that occurred on Waldegrave Road, Carlisle yesterday at 7:45am.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: "It is reported two males entered a property with a knife and machete.

"A 49-year-old man suffered minor injuries to his hands.

"A 31-year-old from Carlisle was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and released on police bail.

"Detectives are appealing for witnesses who saw two males with black jackets with their hoods up and faces partially covered, in or around that area at that time is encouraged to contact police."
