Maryport Coastguard has urged people to stay safe after a weather warning was issued for this week ahead of Storm Barra.
Strong winds and snow are to be expected and the area's coastguard are encouraging people to take safety measures.
A spokesperson said: "The Met Office has issued two warning for Tuesday the 7th as Storm Barra is bringing. Please keep safe and Avoid coastal paths, promenades, piers, cliff edges, harbour walls or going in the water. Don't take risks: Waves are unpredictable - it only takes 15cm of water to knock you off your feet. Not everyone can be saved Remember, if you see someone in trouble at the coast or in the sea."
