A YOUNG Carlisle motorist has been given a ban after police caught him drug driving while in a car with an unsafe front tyre.
Ashley Moran, 20, committed both offences on July 14, the city's Rickergate court heard.
The defendant, of Shadygrove Road, Raffles, admitted driving while over limit for a cannabis breakdown product and driving his Ford Fiesta in Victoria Road, Carlisle, with a front offside tyre that had exposed wire cord.
Magistrates banned him for a year.
Moran was also fined £216 and told to pay £85 costs and a victim surcharge of £34. His reading for the cannabis breakdown product was slightly over the limit.
