A LIFESAVING charity has revealed it managed to respond to more than a hundred callouts thanks to generous donations topping £400,000.
The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) saw donations made in memory of a loved one total more than £420,000 last year.
A GNAAS spokesman said: “This has enabled us to respond to 121 call-outs, meaning potentially 121 lives saved.
“When our helicopter is called upon, their memories fly with us.
“To help remember someone you have lost, we now offer Flying Forever tributes - an online space to share stories, photos and more.”
