Police are continuing enquiries into the circumstances of a car crash.

The car crash occurred at approximately 8:40pm on Sunday November 28, 2021, police say on the A591 between Crosthwaite Roundabout and Lyzzick Hall, where a Black Ford Fiesta crashed into a tree.

A spokesperson from Cumbria police said: "A 19-year-old woman passenger from the vehicle remains in a critical condition and is now in The Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle.

"Her family is being supported by specialist officers.

"Two other occupants, a 22-year-old man and a 19-year-old man sustained minor injuries."

"Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward who may have travelled the A591 around this time, particularly in a Westbound direction, especially those with any dashcam footage or anyone who may have seen the black Fiesta around the location at this time.
