A BUYER has been found for a £5.5 million mansion.

Ulverston's Stone Cross Mansion, which features 19 apartments, is on the market for £5.5 million.

It is now under offer, according to property agents Savills.

The lofty price marks it out as the most expensive domestic property on the market in Cumbria.

A description of the 19th Century Grade II listed building said: "Stone Cross Mansion is a unique refurbishment.

"A stunning mansion originally built as the family home of the Kennedy family in 1874.

Award winning developers Charles Church have painstakingly restored the building, returning it to its former glory whilst internally creating a very special collection of only 19, two and three bedroom apartments.

"The developers were rewarded for their efforts by winning Best Refurbishment Project at the 2019 Housebuilder awards.

"Apartments are finished to high standard but with an opportunity for the new owners to add their own interior design.

"The mansion is an excellent investment opportunity. Offered as freehold with 4.3 acre land.

"The mansion would suit a variety of uses subject to necessary consents."
