A council has issued a warning to businesses and members of the public over a toy advent calendar.

Cumbria County Council Trading Standards have alerted people to safety concerns that have been raised about a Fidget Toy Advent Calendar.

The manufacturer of the calendars has not yet been identified, but it is known that they were first discovered in North Lanarkshire in Scotland.

Under a test, the calendars were found not to meet all of the requirements of the Toy (Safety) Regulations 2011, according to Cumbria Trading Standards.

A spokesperson for Cumbria County Council said: "Anyone who has purchased the calendar pictured are advised not to give it to their children , return it to the supplier.

"Businesses selling this product should contact their local Trading Standards Service for further advice."
