A YOUNG Carlisle man must do 140 hours of unpaid work after he harassed a woman in Brampton, phoning her 83 times in just one day.
Daniel Peter Gill, 25, of Mardale Road, Raffles, appearing before magistrates at Carlisle's Rickergate court, pleaded guilty to committing the offence on November 6.
The court heard about both the repeated phone calls and about how the defendant went to the victim's address, shouting and banging on her door. This was a course of conduct which which amounted to harassment, the charge said.
Magistrates imposed a community order which includes a requirement to do the unpaid work in the next year and he must also complete up to 30 days of rehabilitation activity with the Probation Service.
Gill was also given a restraining order, banning any contact between him and the victim until November 22, 2023. He must pay £85 costs and a £95 victim surcharge.
