Road closed
Emergency services have been forced to close the A69.
There has been a three-car crash near Brampton.
There are queues both sides of the crash.
Firefighters from Carlisle East Station have reminded the public to stay off the roads.
A spokesman for the station said: "We are currently on their way to a road traffic collision near Brampton.
"The roads are extremely treacherous, please only drive if absolutely necessary."
A spokesman for the police said: "Officers are at the scene of a three vehicle Road Traffic Collision on the A69 near to New Mills. The Road will be closed for several hours while we deal with incident. Please avoid the area."
