Young people are being invited to take part in Cumbria County Council's Winter Holiday Activity Programme.

Hundreds of different activities are on offer from more than 70 organisations through the school holidays.

Snowsports and festive crafts are just some of the things on offer to let young people enjoy the festive season.

Councillor Deborah Earl, Cabinet Member for Communities and Public Health, said: "I am so glad that we have been able to pull together such a comprehensive programme, with activities taking place up and down the county.

"The summer programme brought smiles back to the faces of the county’s children and young people after a tough 18 months, and I know the winter programme will have the same positive impact again."

All the activities are free for families whose children receive benefits-related free school meals. The programme will also fund additional free places for young people in particular circumstances, with eligibility for funding depending on the organisation running the activity. Some activities also have paid-for places available to all children and young people.

Cumbrian families are being encouraged to visit www.cumbria.gov.uk/holidays to see the activities on offer and book. All activities must be booked in advance.
