The Dacre Hall, not normally open to the public, will be hosting a Christmas Craft Fair between November 25 and 29 and will be open between 10:00am and 5:00pm daily, with an admission fee of £1.

The Dacre Hall, which is in Lanercost, forms part of the 12th century Lanercost Prior and give a real glimpse into the past where you can see traces of the mid sixteenth century wall painting, admire the large banquet style room with superbly restored roof beams. Miles away from the hustle and bustle of the high street.

Alan Cathers, who chairs the Dace Hall Committee, said: “Keeping the Hall in good repair is a constant concern and we at the Dacre Hall Committee want to make sure that the Hall is there for future generations to enjoy.

“The Christmas Craft Fair is just one of our annual events, that allows people to see the amazing building and helps us to raise the funds to look after this very special place”

A Dacre Hall spokesperson added: "This is such a unique opportunity to step back in time, slow down the pace, enjoy some home cooking and complete a little Christmas shopping at the wide range of craft stalls and goods available to buy."
