An acclaimed comedian has pledged to ‘entertain the pants off’ a Carlisle crowd when he performs at the city’s Old Fire Station next week.

Tez Ilyas, who has starred on TV and radio is also a published author, will appear on the venue’s stage on Thursday as part of his Vicked tour.

“If you’re not from Carlisle I reckon they’ll let you in the gig without having to stay forever and ever,” he said.

“So if you are in the Cumbria area generally and want some stand-up comedy in your life, come and I’ll entertain the pants off you.”

The Blackburn-born Pakistani comic has got used to entertaining the pants off people over the past few years, on his way to becoming one of the most celebrated stars in British comedy.

Tez’s many TV appearances include Live at The Apollo, The Last Leg, Mock the Week, Man Like Mobeen, The Now Show, and The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice.

In 2015 Tez performed a sell-out run of his show TEZ Talks at the Soho Theatre in London.

In 2016 his highly anticipated follow-up show Made in Britain went on to sell out every single performance at the Edinburgh Fringe with a nationwide tour in 2017.

The Telegraph called his political stand-up 'candy floss with a razorblade inside' while The Times has described him as 'radiantly entertaining'.

His latest Vicked tour comes to the Old Fire Station in Carlisle on November 18.

Tickets are £15, available from Live Nation.
