AS you will be aware our new signing announcements are starting to filter through to the public domain.

We feel we have recruited some solid individuals with the likes of Josh Wood, Danny Langtree and Sam Brooks having played consistently at Championship level and above. We still believe that the core of our squad is of a high standard, so a lot of our work has also gone on retention.

Off the field we have just finished with our Oktoberfest weekend which proved to be a tremendously popular event. We think we have created something for future years. Looking further ahead our events programme must be relentless as we have set ourselves income targets that are very testing.

I personally feel the pressure of these targets, but I am reassured by all the hard work done around the club.

On the horizon we have our Ladies presentation evening this Saturday and it would be great if our fans turned up in numbers in the marquee to celebrate their fantastic contribution to our successful season. They were a big part in us being awarded League One club of the year. Entrance is free from 7pm.

A week later we have a couple of Halloween nights. Friday is a family affair, and all the tables were snapped up in an instant, but we still have a few tickets available for the Saturday with some top DJs to entertain and further encouragement to dress up in your Halloween outfits. We have gone into partnership with Pitch Up with tickets available from their website.

Later in November we see the return of Andy Whitby and supporting acts. The evening is sold out put there are still a few tickets for junior Andy Whitby on Saturday afternoon of November 20.

Our Christmas parties start at the end of November, and we still have space available Friday, November 26, a Kids Party Friday, December 3, and both days on the weekend of Friday, December 10 and Saturday, December 11.

We are about to ditch our benches and have invested in chairs, tables, drapes and chandeliers befitting of a wedding venue, so it is the perfect venue for your office Xmas parties. Be reassured there will be plenty of heating.

We are hoping that the fixtures will be announced Friday, November 14, and we urge our fans to pick up the cheapest season tickets in the league. Once we know the fixtures, we hope appetites will be whetted. The early start of January 30 means we must cram in some early friendlies and the club is trying to get something lined up for Boxing Day, watch this space.

Our community programme continues to grow, and we are excited by the addition of Ellis Gillam at the start of next month. Obviously, we hope that all our community initiatives result in bigger crowds but at the same time they need funding. We hope that the great work we do is recognised by industry and it can give the bigger companies a vehicle to add social value that we know is a pre-requisite for the big contracts.

As the community team grows, we are able to offer time for more schools and they should contact advantage@barrowrlfc.com to sign up. Also, we have half term camps next week. The camps have proven really popular, but we have space available to help your children gain confidence and fitness.
