CUMBRIA County Council is reminding people to give their views and feedback on a new infrastructure plan aimed at improving travel across the county.

The public are being asked to have their say on the Cumbria Transport Infrastructure Plan 2022-2037 through an online survey which closes on Monday.

The CTIP has been developed by Cumbria County Council and Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership (CLEP) and sets out the policy framework for the role of transport and connectivity in supporting growth in Cumbria – with aims to provide a vision for improving transport and infrastructure in Cumbria that provides for the needs of residents, businesses and visitors, as well as respecting our natural environment.

Cllr Keith Little, Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport, said: “The CTIP sets out the key objectives for improving travel across the county, and I’d urge anybody who uses our transport network to spend some time providing their feedback and views.

“Delivering a CTIP that is informed by and meets the needs of local people and businesses will help unlock the economic potential of the county to new businesses and employers, and in turn benefits our local communities.”

Jo Lappin, Chief Executive of Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership said: “The Transport and Infrastructure Plan is a really important document for Cumbria, given that connectivity is essential to our businesses, people and communities.”
