A man has been left with facial injuries after an assault.

Police are on the hunt for three men and a woman to help with the investigation.

A spokesman for the police said: " We are appealing for information as part of an investigation into a reported assault in Alston.

"The incident happened between 11.30pm and midnight yesterday (16 October) at the Victoria Inn, on Front Street.

"A man, in his twenties, suffered facial injuries as a result of the suspected assault.

"We are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to get in touch.

"We would like to speak with four individuals who are were at the scene of the incident."

They are described as:

A white man, aged in his forties, about 5ft 8 inches tall, short black hair and was wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans.

A white man, aged in his forties, of slim build, black medium-length hair and was wearing glasses, a black jack and a green scarf.

A white man, aged in his fifties, of large build, wearing a grey fleece and a dark blue tracksuit.

A white woman, aged in her thirties, of large build, approximately 5ft 5 inches tall, medium-length blonde hair and was wearing a white shirt and black leggings.
