THE PUBLIC will this month tell Local Authorities what they think should be prioritised to reach net zero carbon.
Copeland Borough Council held a Copeland People’s Panel on Climate Change which met ten times in July with thirty residents taking part.
The group focussed on what we can all do in homes and businesses to tackle climate change.
Residents on the climate change panel will now present their recommendations on how to achieve net zero to councillors on Wednesday October 20.
An online event from 6.30pm until 8.30 will see panel members explain their process and why they reached the recommendations.
An Oversight Panel has worked alongside the group of residents to make sure the process is fair and unbiased. It was made up of a range of stakeholders including the council, Cumbria Action for Sustainability and Friends of the Earth.
Details of how to register for the online event can be found on Copeland Borough Council’s Facebook page.
