James Bond star Daniel Craig has donated £10,000 to charity Papyrus — in honour of a Cumbrian dad who is walking in memory of his daughter.

Andy Airey from Penrith, will be accompanied by Mike Palmer, from Greater Manchester, and Tim Owen, from Norfolk.

The 300-mile walk in memory of their daughters Sophie, Beth and Emily, will raise awareness of suicide prevention and promote the professional help and support which is available to young people who are struggling with life.

Starting from Cumbria, the three dads will head south, walking through South Lakeland and Lancashire to Mike’s home in Greater Manchester.

After leaving Greater Manchester, the 3 Dads Walking will head southeast through Cheshire, Staffordshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire before arriving at Tim’s family home in King’s Lynn on Saturday, October 23.

On their Twitter page, the charity Papyrus sent out a "heartfelt thank you" to the James Bond actor.

The charity said: "What an amazing way to send Tim, Andy and Mike on their way, as they start their 300-mile walk tomorrow, in memory of their daughters, Emily, Sophie and Beth."

Their website: https://www.3dadswalking.uk/ contains moving tributes to their daughters, details of the route, a list of generous supporters and how to donate via their JustGiving page.
