A NEW one-day course looking at carbon auditing, and how farm productivity and profitability can benefit, is now available from Carbon Metrics, who specialise in agricultural and environmental carbon audit consultancy.
Aimed specifically at professionals supporting farming businesses, the course, which consists of a half day theory and a half day on-farm practical, will explore how carbon management on farms can accelerate the journey to net zero. .
The course will also look at how to measure GHG emissions and calculate the carbon footprint of a farming enterprise as well as how to identify the mitigation measures associated with good carbon management in an agricultural business. How landowners and farmers should work to develop plans for reducing carbon emissions on farms and what can be done to minimise the risks and maximise the opportunities will also be considered. .
The first of a series of courses will take place at Westmorland Showground on Wednesday, November 3. Simon Travis, Director, said: “It is imperative that the farming industry does not underestimate the growing focus on carbon reduction in agriculture and meeting the challenge of achieving Net Zero by 2040.” To book, email info@carbonmetrics.org.
