This morning crews from Carlisle West Fire Station attended a commercial building fire at Hespin Wood along side Carlisle East.
They were called out at around 5:30am to deal with the incident.
A spokesperson from Carlisle West Fire Station said: "Staff clocking in for the day found the building heavily smoke logged with the deluge sprinkler system active.
"Crews in Breathing apparatus using a thermal imaging camera located serveral seats of fire and extinguished with a hose reel jet."
The fire has now been dealt with but extensive damage was caused to conveyor belt systems and electric cables.
Heavy smoke logging was also caused throughout the large building which crews ventilated.
